• Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) is without a doubt one of the most important advances in the field of surgery in recent years, underpinned by new knowledge in perioperative care in the domains of anesthesia, surgery and paramedical care.
• Continually evolving, it is now widely implemented both nationally and internationally.
• This work discusses the technical (care protocols within a clinical care pathway adapted to various specialties) and organizational aspects (the patient as participant in his care, team spirit, daily implementation, overview, risk management after early discharge) and attempts to find solutions to the different problems encountered in practice
