Measuring quality of life has become a key to judging the effectiveness of cancer treatment.
How can it be assessed and by whom? Should it be done as a matter of course or simply left to scientific research? Should it be on an individual or mass basis? Does it have prognostic value? What does measuring it tell us about cancer of the stomach, breast, prostate, bronchial and upper respiratory and digestive tracts? Is it possible to assess the quality of life of patients under palliative care? What is the quality of life of patients who have recovered? Can tiredness in cancer patients be measured?
This book aims to familiarise the reader with this new approach and critically analyse its importance, applications and results in different pathologies.
