Neurological impairment is the most common failure on admission to the emergency department or in resuscitation. Over the last ten years, the considerable development of neurosciences has made it possible to improve the management of patients with neurodermatitis, but makes it essential, particularly for primary and secondary care providers working outside specialised centres, to acquire solid knowledge. Indeed, it is on this first aid that most of the neurological prognosis of patients depends.
The aim of this book is to provide practitioners with the knowledge base and protocols necessary for the management of neuroinjured patients. The reader will thus find all the key elements of optimised medical management in a single practical book.
The authors have endeavoured to bring together in a concise manner and make accessible all the expertise of neuro-anaesthetist-animators, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists and neurologists. They have therefore designed a pocket reference system composed of about a hundred forms adapted to a range of clinical situations (in neurology, anaesthesia, resuscitation and paediatrics) in order to allow direct and concrete application of the protocols, whatever the structure concerned.
