A global and detailed vision of oncogenetic care systems
Five to 10% of primary digestive tract cancers occur in the context of a major genetic predisposition. The tumor risks of these "hereditary" forms justify the implementation of specific surveillance and screening protocols and lead to discuss the indication of prophylactic surgeries on the patient, but also the realization of molecular tests targeted to his relatives.
In the book are discussed:
• the development and structuring of clinical and molecular oncogenetic activity at the national level ;
• the setting up of networks for the management of predisposed persons in order to try to optimize it;
• the description of new predisposition syndromes and recommendations for their management;
• the modification of molecular analysis strategies and the considerable growth of tumor genetics, thanks to technological developments.
Essential reading for oncologists, this new volume of the AFC Monographs provides readers with a global and detailed vision of these hereditary forms, as well as of the oncogenetic system set up in France.
